Peanut butter is a beloved spread that can offer a wide range of nutrients, including Vitamin E, iron, and magnesium. Peanut butter is also high in protein and healthy fats.⁣⁣

Peanuts also have agglutinin, a lectin, a kind of protein found in grains and legumes. Lectins may contribute to a diverse array of digestive problems. Some research says it’s likely that peanut lectin promotes intestinal permeability (leaky gut) and is theorized to play a role in inflammatory conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and type 1 diabetes. Contributing to all-around systemic inflammation and autoimmunity.⁣⁣

If you love peanut butter, it’s best to only consume it in small amounts or rotate with other nut butters . Buying all natural is also a better option than buying conventional brands with added sugar and oils, lowering the nutritional value. So always be sure to check the label!⁣⁣
